2,4-Dibromo-5-hydroxy benzaldehyde is a stabilized form of 2,4-dibromo-5-hydroxyphenylacetic acid. The bryozoan sequence was determined by synthesizing the alkaloids and dimorphism of aldehyde groups. The synthesis of the hydroxyl group was achieved by using an asymmetric synthesis with propionic acid as the acylating agent. This product can be used in marine applications or to produce 3-hydroxybenzaldehyde.
