2-Dimethyl amino sulfonyl phenthiazine is a member of the class of phenothiazines, which are a family of cyclic compounds. Phenothiazine is a hydrolysed form of 2-dimethyl amino sulfonyl phenthiazine. When oxidized, it becomes an oxidation product. This compound has been shown to be catalyzed by copper and cyclic voltammetry, where it can undergo condensation reactions with amines to produce drugs with different pharmacological properties. The reaction time can be determined by electrochemical measurements and the pharmacological properties can be tested using voltammetry.
