Description:
3-(2,5-Dimethoxyphenyl)propanoic acid is a monocarboxylic acid that is an analog of the amino acid phenylalanine. It has been shown to stabilize proteins by binding to the aromatic rings in their side chains. This prevents unfolding and aggregation of proteins, which occurs under high temperature, pH changes, and other conditions. 3-(2,5-Dimethoxyphenyl)propanoic acid is also an azobenzene that can be used as a probe for protein interactions.
