Description

2-(Dimethylamino)propan-1-ol (DMPO) is an acetylcholine receptor agonist. It has been used for the synthesis of supramolecular structures, which are composed of two or more molecular entities that are not covalently bonded to one another but have strong intermolecular interactions. DMPO can also be used as a ligand in coatings or as a chiral building block for the synthesis of organic compounds. DMPO has been shown to be a good hydration molecule and to have ferrimagnetic properties, which may be exploited for the design of hydrated magnetic anions.
