Difluoroacetic anhydride is a chemical compound that has the formula (CF3CO2)2. It is a colorless liquid with a boiling point of 194.5°C and a melting point of -51°C. Difluoroacetic anhydride belongs to the group of aliphatic hydrocarbons and has a high thermal expansion coefficient. It is used as a test compound for the study of infectious diseases, such as those caused by fatty acid, in animals. Difluoroacetic anhydride also acts as an anti-inflammatory agent when administered subcutaneously or intravenously in rats with nervous system diseases or mice with high resistance to infection.
