Di(2-pyridyl) thionocarbonate is an organic compound that has a number of functional groups. It is a serine protease inhibitor that inhibits the activity of serine proteases by forming covalent bonds with their active site. Di(2-pyridyl) thionocarbonate also has potent inhibitory activity against muscle cell proliferation, amines, and carbodiimides. This drug inhibits the reaction between amines and carbodiimides to form ureas, which may be useful for treatment of muscle disorders such as polymyositis or dermatomyositis.
