Description:
1,3-Di-tert-butylimidazol-2-ylidene is a cross-coupling agent that can be used in the synthesis of organic molecules. It has been shown to react with aryl chlorides to provide amines and imines, as well as ring-opening reactions. 1,3-Di-tert-butylimidazol-2-ylidene has also been used in the synthesis of optically active compounds and has been shown to react with acetonitrile and methyl acetate to provide monomers. The compound can also be used as an intermediate in metathesis reactions.
