Product Information
- 4-(Dimethylamino)triphenylphosphine4-(Diphenylphosphino)-N,N-dimethylaniline
- 4-(diphenylphosphanyl)-N,N-dimethylaniline
4-(Dimethylamino)phenyldiphenylphosphine (DMPP) is a ligand that binds to guanine and forms a stable oxo-bridge. DMPP is labile in water, but is stable in organic solvents such as acetonitrile. It reacts with chloride ions to form the mononuclear complex [DMPPCl]. The oxidation of DMPP by oxidizing agents such as Cl− or ClO− is irreversible, which means that it cannot be reduced back to the parent compound. The activation energy for this process is very high, at 54.5 kJ/mol. This process can be used to generate polynuclear complexes, such as [DMPPC][Cl]2 or [DMPPC][Br]2, with an electron-rich monomer such as chlorobenzene or bromobenzene.
