Dibutyltin Bis(trifluoromethanesulfonate) is a polymerization catalyst that is used to make polymers with a high molecular weight. It is an organic tin compound that is soluble in benzene, but insoluble in water. Dibutyltin Bis(trifluoromethanesulfonate) can be used as a surfactant and stabilizer for polymeric silicone materials. This product can also be used as an acid catalyst for the polymerization of monomers such as aldehydes and styrene. It has been shown to produce polymers with high yield, which are useful in many applications including paints and coatings, adhesives, sealants, elastomers, plastics, rubber goods, and textile finishes.
