2,11-Dithia[3.3]paracyclophane is a molecule that has been synthesized to have the same cavity as paracyclophanes. This cavity can be filled with other molecules, such as sodium sulfide, which will bind in the cavity and form a supramolecular complex. The transport rate of this compound reversibly depends on the concentration of anions in solution. 2DTPP also has a bidentate ligand that binds to anions, which may contribute to its insulator properties.
