1,11-Dioxa[11]paracyclophane is a chiral molecule that has a planar structure. It is an enantiomer of 1,12-dioxa[12]paracyclophane. The compound can be prepared in two steps from the corresponding cyclopropylcarbinol by lithiation and then treatment with sodium azide to give the azide salt. This compound is used as a precursor for the synthesis of other paracyclophanes with different substituents.
