Description:
2,5-Dibromo-3-n-octylthiophene is a soluble and efficient solar cell polymer. It has been shown to have high efficiency in the transformation of light into electricity. This polymer is easy to synthesize and can be used to make organic solar cells. The polymer was found to be photoactive and able to generate photocurrents in response to irradiation with UV light at wavelength 254 nm. It has also been shown that this polymer can be transformed efficiently by imidazole when it is exposed to light with a wavelength of 365 nm.
