4,4'-Dimethyltriphenylamine is a pyrrole-based organic semiconductor. It can be used in solar cells and LEDs. The photophysical properties of 4,4'-dimethyltriphenylamine are dependent on the nature of the acceptor molecule. It absorbs light at wavelengths of 350 nm to 450 nm and has a maximum quantum efficiency of 0.5%. The electron-accepting properties of 4,4'-dimethyltriphenylamine make it an efficient material for conversion to electricity in photovoltaic devices such as solar cells or LEDs.
