Product Information
3,6-Di-tert-butylcarbazole (Boc) is a photophysical, optical, and electrochemical material that has been extensively studied for over four decades. It exhibits fluorescence properties in the solid state with an emission maximum at 514 nm. The molecule's absorption spectrum shows peaks at 365 nm, 477 nm, and 535 nm. The fluorine substituents are responsible for the fluorescence of Boc.
Boc is used as a component in polymer films to increase their light emission efficiency. In this application, it acts as an acceptor for the photoexcited polymer film. This allows it to function in tandem with another component that acts as a donor in order to produce light emission from the polymers.
