Product Information
2,7-Dibromo-9,9-bis(6-bromohexyl)fluorene is an acceptor for cross-coupling reactions. It can be used to produce copolymers with polystyrene and styrene derivatives. This compound has been used in the synthesis of fluorescent dyes and in DNA microarrays. 2,7-Dibromo-9,9-bis(6-bromohexyl)fluorene is synthesized by reacting dioxane with a hydroxide solution and light emission occurs when the copolymerization reaction is complete. The phosphite group is also quaternized with methyl iodide or dimethyl sulfate to produce 2,7-dibromo-9,9-(3'-methyl)bis(6-(2'-methylpropionamido)hexyl)fluorene.
