4,4'-Diaminobenzophenone is an alicyclic compound that belongs to the class of carbonyl compounds. It has a molecular weight of 160.14 g/mol and a melting point of 58-60°C. 4,4'-Diaminobenzophenone is soluble in methanol and ethanol, but insoluble in water or ether. The FTIR spectrum displays peaks at 1743 cm-1 (amide I) and 1690 cm-1 (amide II). This compound has been shown to interact with calcium carbonate and dinucleotide phosphate monolayers on surfaces, which increases their surface properties.
