Description:

Dichlorocyclohexylmethylsilane is a reactive compound that is used in chromatography. It has a high chemical stability, which makes it suitable for use with hydrochloric acid and other strong acids. Dichlorocyclohexylmethylsilane can be used as a solid catalyst for reactions involving alcohols or phenols. It reacts with the hydroxyl group of the alcohol or phenol to form an ether, which can then react with another molecule to produce a reaction product. This property makes dichlorocyclohexylmethylsilane useful in preparing such compounds as acetic anhydride from acetaldehyde and chloromethane. Dichlorocyclohexylmethylsilane also absorbs ultraviolet light, making it ideal for use in uv spectroscopy.
