Description

Decylphosphonic Acid is a reaction intermediate that is used in the synthesis of other compounds. It has been shown to be chemically stable in hydrochloric acid and sodium hydroxide solutions. Decylphosphonic Acid has been shown to have excellent stability at high temperatures, with only slight decomposition observed at 350 °C. The viscosity of this compound has been measured using boron nitride as a shear stress-free viscosimeter. Decylphosphonic Acid is also an excellent model for proteins because it contains a long chain fatty acid group, which can be incorporated into proteins.
