Description:

Decyltrichlorosilane is a silicon-containing compound that is used in the preparation of polymers. It is a non-volatile liquid that has been shown to be effective in the removal of hydrogen fluoride from samples. Decyltrichlorosilane can be used as a cationic surfactant, which will bind to anionic polymers and form a complex with them. This complex can then be removed by washing with water or other solvents. Decyltrichlorosilane is also used as a polymerization initiator and monomer in the production of polymeric matrices. The synthesis of these matrices requires the use of high temperatures, which makes decyltrichlorosilane an excellent candidate for this process.
