Description:

3,5-Dibromophenylacetic acid (DBPA) is a synthetic compound that has been shown to have cytoprotective properties. DBPA is an enantiomer of resveratrol, which is a molecule found in grape skins and red wine and has been shown to have anti-cancer properties. DBPA can be synthesized by a Wittig reaction between phenylacetaldehyde and bromine, followed by hydrolysis with potassium hydroxide.
