Product Information
- Phenol, 2,3-Difluoro-
2,3-Difluorophenol is an ester compound that belongs to a group of compounds called isomers. It has been shown to inhibit the replication of influenza virus in vitro and in vivo. 2,3-Difluorophenol has also been found to be active against other viruses, such as herpes simplex virus type 1. The liquid crystal composition of 2,3-difluorophenol may be related to its antiviral activity. This drug has been shown to interact with drugs that are sensitive to chlorine atom substitution, such as methicillin and penicillin. The hydroxyl group on the 2,3-difluorophenol molecule can react with sodium nitrate and form a skeleton that can be hydrolyzed by hydrochloric acid into a chloride ion and phenol. This efficient method for preparing phenols makes it useful as a solid catalyst for polymerization reactions. In low light conditions, 2,3-d
