1,3-Dibromo-4-fluorobenzene is a bifunctional molecule that can be used in cross-coupling reactions to introduce fluorine atoms into organic molecules. The device used for the reaction can be either an ultrasonic or thermal bath. It is also possible to use 1,3-dibromo-4-fluorobenzene as an acceptor in vibrational frequencies and thermally activated fluorine devices. This compound has been shown to have structure activity relationships with respect to its photovoltaic properties and fluorescent emission. Industrial preparations of 1,3-dibromo-4-fluorobenzene are used in the preparation of pancreas and other pharmaceuticals.
