Description:

DTPA is a hydrophobic molecule that can be used as a nuclear imaging agent. It has been shown to bind to prostate-specific membrane antigen and can be used for the diagnosis of prostate cancer. DTPA is also being investigated for use as a linker in conjugates, which are used in immunoassays and positron emission tomography (PET) imaging agents. The hydrophobic nature of DTPA allows it to penetrate cells and tissues, where it becomes concentrated in the nucleus. This property makes DTPA an ideal agent for molecular imaging of tumors.
