Description

4,2'-Dihydroxy-4',6'-dimethoxychalcone is a potential natural cyclase inhibitor that has been shown to have minimal toxicity and significant cytotoxicity. It has been shown to inhibit the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) in the presence of coumarin derivatives. The optimum concentration for this compound is between 10 and 40 μM. This compound was found to be reactive with an analytical method, which could indicate its potential use as a fluorescent probe. The results of toxicity studies showed that 4,2'-Dihydroxy-4',6'-dimethoxychalcone has significant cytotoxicity and may be used as an antiviral agent.
