Diclofenac resinate is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that relieves pain and inflammation. It is an ester of diclofenac, which has been shown to inhibit the enzyme cyclooxygenase, thereby preventing the production of prostaglandins. Diclofenac resinate is used to treat osteoarthritis and other inflammatory conditions. This drug has been shown to have a lower incidence of gastrointestinal side effects in comparison with other NSAIDs. Diclofenac resinate also has a low rate constant for potassium ion displacement from tissue, which may result in fewer adverse events such as tinnitus, hyperkalaemia, or cardiac arrhythmias.
Diclofenac resinate can be administered orally or by injection. When taken orally, it undergoes rapid absorption from the small intestine into the bloodstream and reaches peak plasma concentrations within one hour. The drug is metabol
