The compound also has an inhibitory effect on the growth of industrial chemicals such as ethylene oxide and acetaldehyde. 3,5-Dibromo-4-hydroxybenzoic acid is produced from p-hydroxybenzoic acid by the action of corrin (a bacterial enzyme).
