Product Information
- Pyrido[3,2-d]pyrimidine, 2,4-dichloro-
2,4-Dichloropyrido[3,2-d]pyrimidine is a synthetic molecule that is structurally similar to donepezil. This compound inhibits the enzyme acetylcholinesterase (AChE), which breaks down the neurotransmitter acetylcholine. The 2,4-dichloropyrido[3,2-d]pyrimidine analogue has been shown to be a potent inhibitor of AChE and can be used to treat Alzheimer's disease and other neurodegenerative disorders. It may also be useful in treating Parkinson's disease. 2,4-Dichloropyrido[3,2-d]pyrimidine is a regioselective inhibitor of AChE with a chlorine atom at C5 position. It also has an electron donating group on the pyrimidinone ring at C6 position that stabilizes the transition state for hydrolysis by AChE and prevents
