3,5-Dimethyl-1-hydroxymethylpyrazole is a copper complex that has photochemical properties. It is also a chelate ring with a concentration-response curve and fluorescence lifetimes. 3,5-Dimethyl-1-hydroxymethylpyrazole has been shown to have antitumour activity in biological studies. It also has the ability to coordinate with metal ions such as copper. The hydroxyl group on the pyrazole ring coordinates with the nitrogen atoms on the copper atom and forms an octahedral geometry.
