Description:

2,6-Difluoro-3-pyridineboronic acid is a heterocyclic compound that contains two isomers. The first one is the (E) form, which is thermodynamically more stable than the other one (Z). This compound has been synthesized by cross-coupling reactions involving trimethylsilyl chloride and boronic acid. It has been shown to be an efficient ligand in asymmetric synthesis due to its ability to orientate easily into desired positions. The crystal structure of this compound was determined by x-ray diffraction and it consists of a pyridine ring with an ancillary ligand.
