Description:
3,5-Diphenyl-1-(1-naphthyl)formazan is a potent inhibitor of malonate dehydrogenase. It can be used to measure the activity of this enzyme in various tissues and fluids. 3,5-Diphenyl-1-(1-naphthyl)formazan is soluble in aqueous solutions and has been used to measure the minimal inhibitory concentration (MIC) of antimicrobial agents in cell culture. It has also been used as a calibration standard for measuring the activity of malonate dehydrogenase in tissue homogenates.
