Product Information
2,5-Dibromo-3-decylthiophene is an experimental polymerization catalyst that has been used in the polymerization of dibromostyrene and ethylvinylether. The covalent nature of this compound allows it to be easily synthesized by reacting 2,5-dibromo-3-decylbenzene with sodium ethoxide in ethanol. Polymerization kinetics have been studied for the polymerization of these two monomers with 2,5-dibromo-3-decylthiophene as a catalyst under solar irradiation. It has also been investigated for use in solar cells. The following constants are given:
k = 0.0178 min(-1)
K = 1 × 10 M
C = 1 × 10 M
T = 298 K
