Description:

3,3-Diphenylpropanoyl chloride is a cholinergic test compound that is used to study the effects of drugs on the central nervous system. It has been shown to have anticholinesterase activity in animals and inhibit the release of acetylcholine from nerve endings. 3,3-Diphenylpropanoyl chloride also has an effect on bladder function by increasing contractions in both normal and nerve-damaged bladders. This compound may also be effective in treating hyperactivity disorders due to its ability to act as a metabotropic glutamate receptor agonist.
