2,6-Dibromo-4-(trifluoromethyl)aniline is a chemical compound with the formula C6H3Br2CF3N. It is a colorless liquid that is soluble in water and ether. 2,6-Dibromo-4-(trifluoromethyl)aniline is an oxidizing agent used in organic synthesis as a catalyst for condensation reactions. In aerobic conditions, it has been shown to catalyze the oxidation of pyridine and other aromatic compounds to quinones. 2,6-Dibromo-4-(trifluoromethyl)aniline can be recycled by adsorption on activated carbon or by recrystallization from methanol.
