Diphenyldifluorosilane is a diatomic molecule that has two functional groups, namely the benzyl and silane groups. It was synthesized by reacting diphenyl with hydrogen chloride and fluorine. Diphenyldifluorosilane can be used as a cross-linking agent for organic solvents and can be recycled to reduce the amount of waste. It reacts with hydrochloric acid or water vapor to produce hydrogen chloride and organic solvent. This chemical has been shown to react with an aromatic hydrocarbon, such as benzene, to form an organic compound known as biphenylsulfonamide.
