Product Information
- 1,1-difluoro-N,N-dimethylmethanamine
Difluoromethyldimethylamine is a fluorinating agent that can be used as an alternative to hydrogen fluoride in the production of fluorinated organic compounds. It reacts with carbanions at low temperatures and yields stable products. The NMR spectrum of this compound features a triplet at δ −3.5 ppm, which corresponds to the C-F bond, and a quartet at δ 2.0 ppm, which corresponds to the CF 3 group. The lowest temperature at which difluoromethyldimethylamine can be stored is −70°C.
