2,5-Difluorobenzylzinc Bromide is a chemical compound with the molecular formula MgBrF. It is soluble in water and alcohols. It has index 1.0 and melts at 330°C. It can be used as an accelerant for magnesium carbonate and magnesium silicates, which are used to manufacture fire retardants, plastics, and paints. 2,5-Difluorobenzylzinc Bromide has also been shown to act as a dopant for europium ions in lanthanum oxide (LaO) phosphors. The strontium ion promotes the emission of red light by the europium ion when it is excited by ultraviolet light. The europium ion also emits green light when it is excited by blue light, while the titanium ion emits red light when it is excited by blue or ultraviolet light.
