Description:

2,6-Dibromo-3,5-difluoropyridine is a tetrafluoropyridine that is produced by the hydrogenolysis of 2,6-dibromo-3,5-difluoroaniline. It has been shown to be catalytic in the synthesis of aminomethylpyridines with boronic acids and halides. This compound has also been used as a precursor for the synthesis of other heterocycles with boronic acids and halides. 2,6-Dibromo-3,5-difluoropyridine can be activated by metal hydrides such as aluminium or fluoride. It reacts with chloride to produce hydrogen chloride gas and aluminum chloride. 2,6-Dibromo-3,5-difluoropyridine can also react with trisubstituted boronic acids or nitro compounds
