1,2-Dichloro-1,2-difluoroethylene is a hydrocarbon with the chemical formula CClF. This compound is an isomer of 1,2-dichloroethane and has a chlorine atom in its molecule. It is a colorless gas that smells like chloroform and has a density of 2.6 g/L. 1,2-Dichloro-1,2-difluoroethylene can be produced by the copolymerization of chlorine with ethylene or ethylene difluoride. It can also be made by reacting fluorine with an alkene such as propylene or butadiene at temperatures from -60 to -80°C.
