3,5-Dichloro-1-fluoropyridin-1-Ium is a nucleophilic compound that is a member of the pyridine family. It has shown to be an effective inhibitor of tumor cell lines in vitro. 3,5-Dichloro-1-fluoropyridin-1-Ium binds to DNA and inhibits bacterial growth by attacking the azulene ring of the bacterial nucleotide. This chemical also can react with fluoride ions to form triflates. 3,5-Dichloro-1-fluoropyridin-1-Ium has been shown to be an effective inhibitor of methoxymethyl groups, which are found in many transition metal complexes.
