3-(Difluoromethyl)-4-Fluoroaniline (3-DFAA) is an antiviral drug that belongs to the group of allosteric modulators. It is a small molecule that binds to the capsid protein of Hepatitis C virus, which prevents assembly and release. 3-DFAA inhibits the formation of dimers and monomers of the virus and is effective against both genotype 1 and 2. 3-DFAA has been shown to be an allosteric modulator of influenza A virus, HIV, herpes simplex virus, and human papillomavirus. This drug also inhibits viral replication in human cells by inhibiting viral transcription and translation.
