Product Information

Name:
2,4-Dinitro-1-(trifluoromethoxy)benzene
Description:

2,4-Dinitro-1-(trifluoromethoxy)benzene is an organofluorine compound that belongs to the group of nucleophilic compounds. It is synthesized by an asymmetric synthesis of 1-pyridinium trifluoromethanesulfonate and 2,4-dinitrofluorobenzene. 2,4-Dinitro-1-(trifluoromethoxy)benzene has a high lipophilicity and is sensitive to heat and light. This compound has been used as a sensor for gas detection because it changes its optical properties in response to the presence of nitric oxide (NO). 2,4-Dinitro-1-(trifluoromethoxy)benzene also reacts with long chain aliphatic amines to form dinitrophenyl derivatives that are used in biological assays.
