Description:

4-(3,5-Difluorophenyl)-4-Oxobutyric Acid is an antibacterial agent that has been shown to possess structural and docking properties. 4-(3,5-Difluorophenyl)-4-Oxobutyric Acid can be synthesized by the reaction of hydrazine with 3,5-difluoro phenylacetic acid in the presence of a base. This compound is also known to crystallize in two different structures: triclinic and orthorhombic. The triclinic structure can be obtained at room temperature, while the orthorhombic structure can be obtained at higher temperatures. Irradiation and microwave irradiation have been reported to induce changes in the crystal structure of 4-(3,5-Difluorophenyl)-4-Oxobutyric Acid.
