Product Information
The compound 2,4-difluoro-3-formylphenyl)boronic acid is an imprinting agent that has been shown to bind with human serum albumin. The binding is characterized by a red shift in the absorption spectrum and the formation of a cavity at the boron atom. This cavity can be used for the detection of ligands with a macrocyclic structure, such as isophthalaldehyde. The affinity of this ligand for 2,4-difluoro-3-formylphenyl)boronic acid was determined using competitive inhibition studies. It was found that the binding constant (Ki) for isophthalaldehyde was 4.0 x 10 M and that it had an affinity of 3.1 x 10 M for boronic acids in general.
