Product Information
2-(3,4-Dimethoxyphenyl)-3-Fluoroallylamine is a dopamine inhibitor drug that inhibits the enzyme monoamine oxidase. It is used in combination preparations to treat Parkinson's disease and depression. 2-(3,4-Dimethoxyphenyl)-3-Fluoroallylamine has been shown to be an irreversible inhibitor of the enzyme monoamine oxidase B (MAO-B) and has minimal toxicity. This drug is also used in biochemical tests to measure the activity of MAO enzymes in human serum or tissue extracts. 2-(3,4-Dimethoxyphenyl)-3-Fluoroallylamine binds reversibly to the active site of MAO enzymes and inhibits its catalytic activity. The binding is reversible, so it can be easily displaced from the active site by other compounds such as tyramine.
