1,5-Dimethyl-3-(Trifluoromethyl)-1H-pyrazole (MTFP) is an imidazole that can be synthesized by the reaction of azirine with formaldehyde. The isomerisation of MTFP to MTPA is done by heating it in a water-saturated benzene solution. This product has been used as a precursor for the synthesis of pyrazoles and has shown potential for use in drug development.
