Description

(3E)-2,5-Diamino-2-(Fluoromethyl)-3-Pentenoic Acid is a polyamine oxidase inhibitor. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of tumoricidal cells in tissue culture. (3E)-2,5-Diamino-2-(Fluoromethyl)-3-Pentenoic Acid is also an inhibitor of polyamine biosynthesis, which may be due to its ability to inhibit the deamination and decarboxylation of ornithine. This molecule is a potent inhibitor of protein synthesis in both cytosolic and ventral compartments. (3E)-2,5-Diamino-2-(Fluoromethyl)-3-Pentenoic Acid inhibits tumor necrosis factor alpha production by human monocytes stimulated with lipopolysaccharide from Escherichia coli.
