Product Information
Diethyl (difluoro(trimethylsilyl)methyl)phosphonate is a nucleophilic reagent used in organic chemistry. It has been shown to be useful in the oxidative coupling of terminal alkynes and other substrates, as well as in transfer reactions involving silicon-containing compounds. Diethyl (difluoro(trimethylsilyl)methyl)phosphonate is also a research reagent that has been used for the synthesis of pharmaceuticals with high activity against bacteria. The compound is synthesized by reacting an alkyne with phosphorus pentasulfide, followed by treatment with diethyl phosphite. Diethyl (difluoro(trimethylsilyl)methyl)phosphonate has also been proposed as an antimicrobial agent due to its ability to inhibit bacterial DNA synthesis and protein synthesis.
