It is an ATP competitive inhibitor of the cyclin dependent kinase 2 (CDK2). This molecule also has the ability to cross the blood brain barrier and inhibit protein kinases in malignant cells. 1,1'-[(E)-1,2-Difluoro-1,2-ethenediyl]bis(4-chlorobenzene) has been shown to have a significant effect on parameters such as cell size and transport. It also inhibits phosphorylation of tyrosine in cells and alters doppler images.
