(3R)-3-(Di(Cyclobutyl)Amino)-8-Fluorochroman-5-Carboxamide is a fatty acid that has been shown to have pharmacological activity. It has been shown to bind to the 5-HT1a receptor, which is the main mediator of the anti-depressant effects of serotonin. This drug also has been shown to be effective in treating dementia and hepatic steatosis. The process optimization of this compound was achieved by screening for an increase in the rate of reaction with 3,4-dihydroxyphenylalanine (DOPA). This led to increased potency at receptor binding sites and enhanced effectiveness.
