- (2,6-Difluorophenyl)(Phenyl)Methanone
- (2,6-Difluorophenyl)phenylmethanone
- Methanone, (2,6-difluorophenyl)phenyl-
2,6-Difluorobenzophenone is a gas with an unpleasant odor. It is a synthetic compound that is used as a chelate ligand in coordination chemistry. 2,6-Difluorobenzophenone has been shown to form imine bonds with metal ions and reacts with other molecules to form new compounds. This reaction can be thermodynamically or kinetically controlled. 2,6-Difluorobenzophenone has also been observed to form c-h bonds and react with carbonyl groups to produce isomeric products. Gelation occurs when the molecules are crosslinked together by hydrogen bonding.
